Catherine O’Hara was a beloved actress whose career lasted for over 50 years. She was extremely talented and won numerous awards, including two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and four Screen Actors Guild Awards. She was also appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2017. She began acting in 1975, starring in films like Home Alone, Beetlejuice, Chicken Little, Monster House, and many more. She’s also featured in series like Schitt’s Creek and Six Feet Under, among many others. On January 30th, 2026, Catherine O’Hara unfortunately passed away at the age of 71. She had trouble breathing and passed away later that day at the hospital. Her cause of death was revealed to be a pulmonary embolism. She also appeared to have underlying rectal cancer. Her ashes were given to her husband, Bo.
