On October 21st, the One Act cast and crew will leave early in the morning for Woodland High School for the annual One Act competition. A 12-hour day watching performances from other schools before performing themselves, all in stiff competition.
The One Act competition requires each participating school to prepare a play or musical that is less than 55 minutes and only one act (hence the name). The performance is judged by three judges, on topics like blocking, acting choices, lighting, sound, and other things that the students help prepare.
This year, Cartersville High School will be performing “Mind Games” by Paul Elliott, a dramatic show about therapist Dr. Harriman, played by Sam Bernstein, and his patient Kyle, played by Cainen Crowder. Kyle swears up and down that he is creating everything he sees and that he “Really [is] doing all this to [him]self,” even though Dr Harriman knows this is not true. Or is it? Come find out at Mind Games, October 19th and 23rd at 7pm in the Auditorium!
