Scandal
Throughout the year, I have constantly been looking for a good show that I could sit and binge watch after a long day at school/work. I’ve watched shows ranging from sitcoms to romcoms to teen dramas and more, but there’s one that has recently stood out to me. My Chipper’s Choice for this week is the hit political thriller show Scandal. The TV series follows Olivia Pope, a former White House Communications Director, and her scandalous secret relationship with Fitzgerald Grant, the President of the US. Though the show mainly focuses on their toxic on and off affair (which you will grow to love), it also focuses on Pope’s crisis management firm.
What really made the show stand out to me was the strong bonds that the characters have with one another. You will cry, laugh, sometimes cringe, hate, and love this show and that’s what makes it so bingeable.

This is Where it Ends
“This is Where it Ends” by Marieke Nijkamp is an incredible book following the fifty-four minutes of a harrowing school shooting in Opportunity, Alabama. The book follows four different main characters as they try to reach the ultimate objective. Survive. The book follows Claire: a track runner, Tomas: a troublemaker, Autumn: a dancer, and Sylv: a straight-A student. All of them have their own relationships with the school shooter. The book interjects social media posts that make the fear feel all the more real.
