The Lumberjack, a ride in in Canada’s Wonderland theme park, located in Vaughn, Ontario, suffered a malfunction which led to its passengers being suspended upside down in the air for almost half an hour. A video of the trapped passengers was posted to social media, which showed the passengers’ dangling feet at the top of the malfunctioning ride.
According to the New York Post, “Guests reported losing feeling in their feet as they dangled upside down.” The workers had to fix the ride, meaning the ride had to continue through another lap after that, instead of the passengers disembarking right away. This caused the riders to fear that the ride would get stuck again, which fortunately they did not. The ride was finally brought down at 11:05 pm.
There were no injuries, thankfully, with only two guests reporting chest pain who were attended to by the park’s health center and released back into the park. The ride has been closed since as officials investigate the malfunction.
