Romance

Madison Tovey, Writer, Editor-in-Chief

I like love like I like rain,

I like the way it looks and sounds,

but I don’t like the way it feels.

I’d love to have love that seems as refreshing

As when you wake up to a clear sky

After a long night of a storm.

I’ve never seen love that didn’t seem like it hurt,

Just like I’ve never seen rain and not heard thunder.

I’ve never felt love that felt lovely,

Or been loved in a way that felt angelic.

Just like I haven’t been to a church and felt holier.

But maybe it is a blessing to not love,

To not have that hurt or hear that thunder.
