Saving Lives with Daylight

Saving Lives with Daylight

Cainen Crowder, Writer

We all tend to overlook the little things in life such as daylight savings time, but to some people, this determines their lives. Daylight saving to most people looks like just a lost hour of sleep, but for farmers, they must shift their schedules. If a farmer feeds their cow at 5:00 and they have to shift up, their cow must wait around another hour just to get milked. While this is bad it’s just a hassle, but when it comes to driving it makes all the difference. Drivers tend to feel safer driving during the day rather than at night and daylight savings time does all that. Studies also show a lesser percentage of pedestrians getting hit during daylight. It just makes sense to make it a regular thing. If we can just keep one means of time. Everything would be so much better. Studies also show how we are more active during the day. So, whenever you have to set your clock back really think about how much we need daylight savings time and whenever it comes to a point where we have to vote to keep it or not. You know what to do.
