Now

Now

Jack Belisle

What once was Outside

 Is now Inside

Days with Friends

Are now with Family

An open Mouth

 Is now a Mask

Everybody Worked

Some now Essential

We learned at School

Now it’s a home Placeholder

Health was a given

Now Risk is higher than ever.

In quarantine, you smell worse when you don’t shower.

You don’t eat as healthy as you used to.

Sweets don’t taste as rare,

The Sun feels like an old friendship growing apart

More and more.

The sounds of cars, bustle, talk, business

All grown quiet

A clarity of view, all the sudden blurred.
