Every year as Thanksgiving comes to an end and the New Year draws ever closer, the people of Cartersville and across the world become filled with anticipation for one day: Christmas. Despite Christmas only being a one-day holiday, the days and weeks surrounding Christmas take on a spirit of their own to make up one of the most beloved times of the year.

But what is it that makes Christmas so beloved?

Students get several weeks away from school. Kids can go home, relax with their families, and shed the stress of school while they enjoy their holiday break.

Christmas is a time for family, friends, and the people that we love. The holiday season provides an opportunity for families to come home and spend time together.

Christmas cheer seems to be all around as stores decorate with a Christmas theme, lights are strewn about houses and on street lights, trees are embellished with ornaments, and much more. It’s hard to avoid a spirit of Christmas cheer when everything around you is dressed for the occasion!

Presents are given out of the goodness of hearts across the world and promote an atmosphere of generosity and kindness for people of all ages.  The holiday season lifts everyone’s spirits and makes people generally nicer through the spread of positivity.

Adults are reminded of a time when they received gifts of their own as they see the expressions of joy on their children’s faces and share in the merriment.

Christmas is seen as one of the best times of the year for a myriad of reasons, but overall Christmas is so beloved because it brings about a sense of happiness, joy, and love that is unparalleled at any other time. Christmas brings people together and helps to ease their stress as they unwind contently.
