THE NIGHT GLISTENS
The night spreads its shadow
The street a glittering cold
The breeze whispers songs
Yet silence seems to hold
It swallows the streets and houses
Consuming everything bright
But under its darkened canvas
There dances a celestial light
Through their horrid stories
They tell me to beware
Yet in its lunar presence
I find comfort in its flair
How sad the moon must be
Stuck in its shadowy plight
Alone with the stars
Trapped in the night
They tell me to avoid you
The darkness brings danger
But moon, my moon
You are no stranger.
The sun awakes
A blazing light
It covers the sky
Purging the night
It marks the beginning
A brand new day
And with the shadows gone
My moon fades away
