Romantic Sins
I have become a prisoner of my sins,
And though there was no crime
I am eternally condemned
I have become a prisoner of love
Not the kind of love that sends sparks flying,
Or stops time when we kiss.
I have become prisoner of a calm love,
A love that does not crush my heart,
Or make my body ache with every breath.
A love that is true and pure,
That opens paths and sails through storms,
I confess my sins with an open heart,
In hopes that heaven and hell will never do us part.
When my time comes
I will face my fate,
And with trembling hands
To the gods I will kindly beg
To keep my inamorato forever safe.
