Starting off the week, on September 11th, the theme was America Monday. This was to honor those lost on 9/11. The outfits were subtle, but they were definitely there. Many wore a red shirt with blue jeans, and others went all out with stars and stripes.
Tuesday was character day. Only a few participated but those who did wore onesies or costumes they had from the past. Some of the characters included Elsa, Twilight Sparkle, a Minion, and Freddy Krueger.
Wednesday was Adam Sandler Day, a trendy theme of dressing in baggy clothes that don’t match, just like Adam Sandler. This was the biggest hit of the week. A lot of people participated and had fun with this, even wearing fake beards and mustaches.
On Thursday, students dressed like teachers while teachers dressed like students. People either went all out for this or didn’t participate. Either way, everyone had fun guessing who was dressed up as who.
For the last day of dress-up week, we wore our Homecoming T-shirts with the theme of “unforgettable, undeniable” or Cartersville colors, purple and gold. This got everyone talking to one another and expressing how excited they were for the Homecoming dance.
