It’s Time to Gain Some Club Awareness: GLINC
October 30, 2018
Have you heard of GLINC? It’s an acronym for Generacion Latina Inc, (A.K.A GLINC), a nonprofit organization that empowers minority groups to succeed after high school. They aim to create a generation that will inspire and change minority communities.
GLINC has cultural and educational field trips to open students up to thinking about their future and to better prepare them for college. GLINC has taken students on college campus field trips to Kennesaw State University, Georgia State, and Georgia Tech.
Even if you do not plan on attending college, the GLINC mentors are there to help you find possible future jobs by teaching leadership skills and exposing students to all types of professionals through a career panel. Don’t let the word “Latinos” keep you from coming. GLINC welcomes anyone, so be sure to check it out in the library every other Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:15 pm.
The Annual Latino Youth Leadership Conference takes place on Saturday November 10, 2018 from 8am – 4pm at Kennesaw State University’s Marietta campus. The conference is day full of excitement for all members. There are motivational speakers and people who provide practical tips for college. There will be plenty of other useful resources at the conference about workshops and college and career readiness.
