Runaway Gingerbread Boys and Girls

Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Chancey’s pre-K students at Cartersville’s Kids & Company have borne witness to a bit of gingerbread mischief this past month.

Early in December, students decorated gingerbread boys and girls with yarn and glitter and googly eyes. Then, when the class went outside to visit with the local fire department, the gingerbread people RAN AWAY, leaving a giant mess in the classroom!

Slowly throughout the month of December, the little cardboard cutouts have been returning to pre-K and the scene of the crime — and bringing along some treats and some letters with interesting tales to tell.

The gingerbread boys and girls visited various friends and families of pre-K students, venturing as far away as Texas, Michigan, and Disney World. Some even received new clothing along the way!

While on their journeys, they had pictures made with Cinderella; they helped out in an operating room; and they even went to cheer on the Canes at the football state championship game!

Upon their return, the mischievous characters have served up treats, handed out stickers, and even supplied students with surgical hats in attempts to make amends for their adventurous antics.

Kids & Company students have had a great time hearing about all the adventures their gingerbread boys and girls went on with family and friends.
