Two weeks ago(Oct. 3) the CHS band had a competition and did exceptionally well. The CHS band scored all 1’s as expected and got 6th out of 19 bands overall. Also Chandler Mann got 4th out of 19 for drum major. Their percussion was also 4th out of 19. They also were only 1/5th of a point behind Starr’s Mill band, the only other band in their class, in percussion, and 2 points overall.

From the perspective of the drum majors and band captain this competition was a success. “I’m proud, we did very well against some serious competition” says Band Captain TJ Reed. The CHS band also happened to break their season goal of 90 points or more, in their first competition! “Breaking 90 was our season goal, and we did that in our first run” -TJ Reed who expects scores to stay above 90 this season. Also drum major Chandler Mann said “we have exceeded our goals for the season and plan to do even better in the future.

And wish the CHS band good luck as they are at their next competition on Oct. 24th.
